Scalby School ProspectusScalby School has established a strong reputation for academic achievement. For the third consecutive year, it has been the highest performing school in the coastal area. Once again at least two-thirds (66%) of our students gained 5 or more grades A*-C at GCSE level, including English and Mathematics, and 96% of our students gained 5 or more A*-C grades or equivalents. In addition, almost half (49%) of our students gained at least 3A* or A GCSE grades and 37% gained at least 5 A* and A GCSE grades.

However, Scalby School is not just a successful academic institution. It is also a community which offers a range of exciting experiences to its youngsters; social, sporting and cultural. As OFSTED said when the school was last inspected, “students contribute to their school and local community, particularly through their performing arts work.” They also said, “Students have positive attitudes to learning and to their school.”

We are very proud of our school and would be happy to show you Scalby at work. Please telephone us to arrange a tour of the school.

The Scalby ‘Success’ magazine seeks to acknowledge and celebrate what we do at Scalby School. What is different about it is that it was researched and designed by our students in a single day as part of their GCSE Journalism studies.

The students worked with the company ‘Words and Pictures’ http://www.wordsandpicseducation.co.uk/ who were so impressed with the standard of their work that they returned to the school to make a film about it.
